Getting Started

Get There:

The golf academy is located at the Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course at Marine Corps Base Hawaii. Authorized patrons with valid ID cards can gain access to the base with out a special pass. Those desiring access need to do the following:

Contact Mo at (808) 386-3500 or golf course at (808) 254-1745. They will provide your name to the pass house.

Arrive at the base main gate and go inside to the pass house with a valid drivers license, current registration and insurance card (rental car contract will suffice for rental cars). Your name will be on the access list.

Obtain pass and enter base. Go straight through two stoplights. You will enter a housing area on your left and a school playground on your right. Proceed about ¼ mile to Manning Street and turn left. The golf course will be on your right side.

A Map is available on Google Earth. There are three choices for Kaneohe Klipper. Pick the one that has “Moffat Road” as the address or use this link:  Golf Course Map

Once at the golf course if you are planning to repeat visits for golf-related activities, you should apply for a free friends of Kbay Pass. Friends of KBAY Application:

Preparing For Golf:

Clothing:

For men: the Klipper has a collared shirt policy. Wear relaxed fitting pants or shorts. Wear tennis or fitness shoes that provide the support needed to make a balanced golf swing. Slippers . . .not so much

For women: Wear relaxed and comfortable clothing. Klipper has great trade winds so a visor, scruntchy, or hat helps to keep hair out of the way. Shoe requirement is same as above.

Equipment:

Clubs are not required to learn golf at the academy. We can provide equipment for the lessons. Just make sure to inform the academy staff of your requirements. Additionally, during the sessions, the staff will make recommendations for type and style of golf clubs if desired.

Lesson Cancellation Policy:

48-hours is the minimum amount of time needed to make a previously scheduled lesson time available to others. We understand that emergency situations do occur and we can make adjustments for that. Lesson no-shows without notice count as a completed lesson.
